Sailing Along on Spyder

Lots of jobs on SPYDER today. Jeff was putting in bulkheads, Doc glued up the mast partners, Bob cut and fit the large laminated quarter knees for the deck house support, Tom & I attached the chainplates to the stern. I don't think these are really called chain plates, but they act like them, distributing the load from the mainsheet blocks between deckbeams, transom and down the transom to the hull. The six hundred plus square feet of sail area puts a lot of stress on those blocks.
