Silent Maid with "box beam " floorboards installed. This is a design improvement on Francis Sweisguth's original work to reduce potential hogging of the boat. The floorboards create a box-type structural beam stiffening the boat longitudinally along both sides of the centerboard slot.
The hull is almost flat here and so gains little from the compound curves forward and aft.
