Happy Thanksgiving

Turkeys by Rancocas creek.

One cord stacked.

Bronze/copper vs iron. Look at the difference in these split out frames from the sneakbox. After 50 years the copper clench nails are good as new, bronze screws almost as good (top). Look at the clean holes with little deposition. The iron swells as it rusts, infiltrating the wood and destroying the tissues(bottom). In the planks, I can put my finger through some of the rusted iron fastener holes, but am using no. 10 bronze screws to refasten in the original copper nail holes.

Put in two new frames and refastened planks on the starboard side.

Mid-November

Three boats, one joiner. The shop is really crowded with boats. This week we worked on the chart flat file for OLYMPIA, SPYDER and the old Perrine sneakbox. I re-sawed cedar for the CHAD kids to laminate. and stacked firewood.

Full House

There is a new Perrine Sneakbox, SPYDER is back, SILENT MAID ongoing, MISLEADING LADY in waiting, The PENN YAN is piggy back on SILENT MAID. Jeff asked if I could bring in a few more boats from my yard to round things out a bit.
