Here is a picture of the start.






Yup, pea soup fog. Race by GPS and local knowledge. Welcome to Maine. The Mainer aboard would guide them in to the rocky shore, closer and closer, and then say "tack about HERE" and around they'd go. They got a cannon for the finish, First in C class, but that's not the official standings. Gotta wait until after the cigars for that.

August TSCA Meet at Union Lake

Andy, Jenny and Ella brought their beautiful Blue jay. Tom E. had his Regal Day Sailor, Mike had his Bolger Gypsy. A low key meeting was held after a day of sailing on the lake. A couple new members arrived. I forgot my camera and have no pix. The tuckup sunk again. The guys would really like to pick up the garvey and bring her to the messabout on Sept. 11.

Back From The Race

The Marshall Catboat family put on a beautiful weekend rendezvous for catboats. Two of the biggest were there, along with their drivers and crews. It was a spectacular sight to see all the smaller ones, wooden first, and then glass, line up, jockey for position and cross the starting line. SILENT MAID and KATHLEEN went off last, and then sailed through the fleet until the first mark. It was a square course with an extra lap for the big girls.
Geoff Marshall and his crew put on a grand event, very hospitable and friendly!
